SPECTRE's stable of artists include an impressive roster of forward thinking artists delivering some of the days most crucial sounds. We promote many eclectic styles of music including adult alternative, alternative rock, chill, electronic music, hip-hop, jazz, pop, world music, and anything else that moves us. Some of the artists we've been most fortunate to work and grow with include Atmosphere, Bebel Gilerto, Bright Eyes, Built to Spill, Norah Jones, Aesop Rock, Thievery Corporation, Squarepusher, and Wilco, amongst others. In addition to working "the charts", SPECTRE works closely with key tastemaker DJs in nearly every genre nationwide. Beyond simply having a stellar staff and top-notch roster, (though we have those things, to be sure,) we pride ourselves on taking a bigger-picture approach to each and every project we take on; our primary concern is generating REAL attention and airplay that helps your artists build their fanbase, sell-out shows, and sell more records, all of which helps your label grow. CMJ has long been the standard for college radio promotion in the US and Canada. To that end, we are in constant contact with CMJ-reporting Music Directors of all stripes. Of the hundreds of reporting stations, we focus not only on the biggest stations (some of whom carry as much or more weight than their commercial counterparts), we also focus on the smaller, more active stations in college-centric markets throughout North America. The result is the most versatile, efficient radio campaign possible -- one that casts a remarkably wide net to the best possible stations, without wasting copies or over-servicing your release. Our goal is to take the strength of our relationships to forge the strongest bond between each station and your artists, giving you the airplay and attention you want, as well as the tools you need to move forward. On the specialty side (RPM, Hip-Hop, World, Latin), it was over ten years ago that SPECTRE took the lead in actively promoting to specialty music directors, many of whom spend as much (or more) time as their head or Alt MD counterparts in getting their DJs involved with new music. Our relationships at these panels are the longest-standing and best in the business.
Over the last few years these shows’ audiences have grown significantly, becoming a crucial outlet for downbeat electronic and eclectic music. Our panel of chill out specialty shows spans multiple radio genres. There are shows on Modern Rock Stations, Hot AC Stations, Smooth Jazz Stations, AAA stations, non-commercial AAA stations, satellite radio services such as Sirius, XM, DMX, internet radio and syndicated programs. We service approximately 100-120 of these shows and have a great tastemaker network in this genre.

In the vast, seemingly unnavigable sea of commercial radio, specialty shows are a beacon of hope -- DJs on these shows have more freedom to play the records *they want to play,* and in doing so attract dedicated audiences, typically the savviest listeners on the hard-to-break-through commercial side. The panels above aggregate the airplay on these shows, and can help garner attention to help your release get to that coveted "next level." SPECTRE has placed several artists in the Top 5 on these charts including artists such as Bright Eyes, Aesop Rock, 1990s, El-P, Tiny Masters of Today, and Ladytron.

Over the last ten years, as commercial radio has become more and more homogenous, public radio has picked up where many of their commercial counterparts have (ahem) dropped off. Today, noncomm AAA radio stations strike an exciting and elusive balance to play some of the best and most exciting indie artists while maintaining an impressively broad demographic of listeners. This is where Elvis Costello and Norah Jones sit side by side with the likes of Bright Eyes, Built To Spill, Jarvis Cocker, Zap Mama, Forro in the Dark, and Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. Promotion at this panel of stations, many of whom spin records far heavier than their college counterparts, can help amplify the breadth and depth of your release's life at radio and beyond.

In addition to tracking on logins and downloads of your release, SPECTRE Digital offers streaming previews, easy to use feedback fields, full artwork and tray cards, and so much more.
